Henny The Parakeet

In this true story from our childhood, Henny, our delightful, talkative and acrobatic parakeet who would enjoy a cup of coffee with Dad each morning, escapes from our apartment into the streets of Brooklyn. This was horrible because he was a special bird and was Annette's birthday present.

Will our family ever get him back? Much will depend upon the cooperation of family, neighbors and friends, mixed in with hope and faith that all will end well. Reward posters spring up around Bensonhurst and the kids of Mirvin Hall respond to the call to help find him.

While out and about the neighborhood, Henny contracts a near fatal pneumonia ... Will Annette's gentle care for him help him survive?
